Justin Giunta of Subversive (who won the CFDA Swarovski Award for Accessories Design in 2009 and Ecco Domani”s first ever grand award for accessories design in 2008) has been in the news quite a bit lately as he was just appointed to be the design director of jewelry at Tory Burch. Great choice TB! Luckily Giunta will continue designing his own line and I imagine he”ll bring a welcome young edge to Burch”s accessories. A prime example of one of the designer”s designs is this Subversive Gold Tropical Treasure Necklace ($575). Yes there”s a lot going on and no not everyone could pull it off, but it”s original, distinctive and an eye-catching statement piece. I could see this looking great against a white tee, paired with black skinny pants and high, high heels!

Pairing the jeans with a blouse with a flounce at the hem creates a nice accent to the waist. This is also where the normal advice given to larger women can simply be switched around to make a slim woman look more balanced. To look thinner, the general advice is to only wear shoes with a little heel when wearing skinny pants, but a slim woman can definitely carry off the look with a pretty pair of flat shoes.

Prints are another fashion issue that can be turned around for a slim women. These women can handle busy prints and contrasting colours with flair.
